
To Volunteer with EOFD 6
Stop by Station 61 at 8047 Normandy Street SE, or Station 64 at 9530 Old
Highway 99 SE , Monday-Friday, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to pick
up an application package. The package contains complete details on the
process of becoming a firefighter and emergency medical responder.
FD6 accepts volunteers in the following roles:
Resident Responder
Lives at Station 64. Required to attend drills and work duty shifts
at Station 64 in exchange for rent and utilities.
Community-Based Responder
Lives within the geographical borders of FD6. Responders are assigned
to the fire station closest to their residence. Required to attend drills.
Notified of emergency responses via pager and responds to assigned station
for apparatus as part of that station's response crew. Respond as needed
for emergencies. Can work shifts at Station 64, but not required to.
Non-Community Based Responder
Lives outside the geographical boundaries of FD6 which prevents them
from responding in a timely manner via pager in an emergency. Required
to attend drills and work duty shifts at Station 64.
Administrative Volunteer
Provides assistance to the FD6 Office Manager/Administrative Assistant.
Duties are primarily clerical in nature. No response or emergency medical
duties are required.
