Behind the Firelines

News from around the District.

FD6 Featured in National Magazine

The April 2003 issue of Journal of Emergency Medical Services (JEMS) features a story and photos about the Mass Casualty Incident (MCI) equipment and training program introduced in District 6 during 2002. The six-page article is written in a "How-to" style by FD6 EMS Officer Captain Ed Mund. It includes an action plan and contents checklists that any agency can adapt and follow to create the same capabilities for themselves. The new countywide MCI response unit MC-6 and its contents are also detailed. For more information on the FD6 equipment and MC-6, follow the link found on the Station 62 page on this website. The JEMS article can be seen online at www.jems.com.
